Programs & Grants.
Having effective protocols and policies in place guiding your violence recognition and response plan is the best way to ensure an effective action before an incident ever begins. Grant monies to create sustainable programs help our communities thrive and work as a team.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT with private funding. Comprehensive, “Full Circle” program development includes considering all avenues of a problem from recognition, response, training, application, and more. We have extensive experience in building a program from the ground up, but also in evaluating existing violence recognition and response programs to determine if there are any missing components to enhance the protocol to consider just some of the following:
What team members have we identified to be part of the process? Who are our local partners?
What recognition concerns do we have?
How do we eliminate the Silo Effect in information sharing?
Do we have any issues protecting disclosures or victim confidentiality that we can address?
Have we trained staff in trauma-informed acceptance of information?
Who is most likely to be a disclosure source or contact point? Do they have interview training?
What is our chain of command for reporting and when?
How do we respond immediately, intermediately, long-term, and post-event?
What mental health resources or referrals do we have available for pre- or post-incident?
What equipment or personnel do we need to address the program effectively and how do we fund these?
What training does staff need in order to address all program components from violence recognition through response that is specific to your workplace or school?
… And much more.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT with GRANTS. Grants are available from many sources, such as local, State, or Federal government, corporations, or foundations. While there are grants for simply purchasing equipment and supplies or funding a charity, more often grants are available to address complex social, justice, and quality of life issues. These grants focus on the development of multidisciplinary teams and connections across community agencies, private companies, and nonprofits, to address an issue that affects them all such as targeted violence, sexual assault response, domestic violence investigation and prosecution, and much more. Grants can fund studies or potential programs that might be tested and then utilized across the United States.
Just as there are many types of grants there are also many types of grant applications. Some project narratives are simple 300-words or less explanations of needs coupled with detailed financial forms, others are an intricate, complex series of documents and tasks that can be extremely daunting if you are not familiar with the process or structure.
